Dale Moore continues through Habakkuk 2, beginning at verse 9 and working through verse 11, showing how the description of Babylon's covetousness and pride also pictures the Antichrist to come. He works through covetousness and the love of money in 1 Timothy 6, Luke 12, and James 5, then the false security of setting a nest on high from Jeremiah 49, Obadiah 1, Isaiah 28 and 47, and Genesis 11, and closes with the stones that cry out as witnesses. Along the way he urges believers to talk to God through the day, walk circumspectly and be ready for divine appointments, refuse to lie or cover sin, wait on the Lord instead of running ahead, and keep their focus on God rather than on world events they cannot change.
“Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil! Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul. For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.”
