1st Kings: Part 1

Pastor Pierucki begins an overview of 1 Kings, starting with Adonijah exalting himself as king and Solomon being set on the throne, then working through David's charge to Solomon, Solomon's request for an understanding heart at Gibeon, the judgment between the two harlots, and the building and dedication of the temple. Along the way he warns against pride and self-appointed men, defends scriptural authority through a sending church, and argues that ministries belong under a local church with real accountability and submission. He also answers Calvinism from the preaching of the prophets, calls out popular false teachers, and reminds hearers that only Jesus Christ can forgive sins, not a priest.
