John 7:37-39

Water of the Word

Nathan Grossman · August 23, 2026 · 12:15 PM service

Nathan Grossman continues his study on water as a picture of the Word of God, beginning with Christ's call to the thirsty in John 7 and the living water promised in John 4. He points to David's thirst for God in Psalms 42 and his refusal to drink the water from Bethlehem's well in 2 Samuel 23, warns that gluttony and idleness pull men away from craving the scriptures, and uses 1 Corinthians 3 to show that it does not matter who does the planting or watering as long as the preaching is right. He also challenges believers not to close their hearts to preaching because of who is preaching or how it makes them feel, and encourages them from Ecclesiastes 11 to keep sowing, since God gives the increase.

Isaiah 55:10

Water Part 2

Nathan Grossman · July 26, 2026 · 12:15 PM service

In this second message on water, Nathan Grossman traces the theme of water through Scripture, from the mist that watered the earth in Genesis 2, to the flood that destroyed it in Genesis 6, to Isaiah 55 where water pictures the word of God going out and covering the earth. He warns that a gospel mixed with anything else is contaminated, points to a spiritual famine of hearing God's word, and answers the claim that water baptism saves by working through 1 Peter 3. He closes with Abraham and David, two men who gave water to the Lord, and calls for gratitude rather than the pride and fullness that sear the conscience.

2 Timothy 3:16

The Scripture

Nathan Grossman · May 24, 2026 · 12:15 PM service

Nathan Grossman preaches on the nature and authority of Scripture, starting in Genesis 1 and Hebrews 1 and 11 to show that God created by His word, then working through 2 Peter 1, Job, 2 Corinthians 3, Hebrews 9, and 1 John 5. He explains the doctrine of inspiration, why a preserved King James Bible needs no appeal to lost originals, why the Scriptures are a surer witness than any vision or experience, and how the believer himself is inspired and written on by the Spirit of God. He closes by showing three places where the Scriptures were destroyed and raised again, picturing the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, and urges hearers to actually read their Bibles rather than trust their own opinions and dreams.

Isaiah 1:1-6

Nathan Grossman · April 19, 2026 · 10:00 AM service

Nathan Grossman teaches through the opening verses of Isaiah 1, beginning with God raising up one man to preach against a whole nation and its kings, and moving into the charge that God nourished and brought up children who then rebelled against Him. He works through the ox and the ass knowing their master, what it means to be a sinful nation and children that are corruptors, how backsliding happens in a believer's life, and God's anger with the wicked, drawing in Psalms 2, 7, 27, 76, and 119, Ephesians 5, 2 Peter 2, and several passages in Proverbs on scorners and judgment. He closes on the sickness from the sole of the foot to the head as a picture of the condition of the church today, and points to Christ taking the stripes and being numbered with the transgressors.
