Job and his Redeemer

Preaching from Job 19, John Brewer looks at the character of Job, a mature, upright man who feared God and turned from evil, and at the suffering God allowed to come into his life. He shows that even before Exodus and Ruth were written, Job by faith could see the redemption, the resurrection, and the return of Christ, and knew he would one day stand before his Redeemer in a resurrected body. The message calls believers to walk with God so closely that He gives them the kind of insight and relationship Job had.
“Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book! That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever! For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.”
